| Okay, Master Blair is a friend of mine. I don't know the person trying to take her son, but I do know her son is about the same age as Delenn, and this entire thing is absolutely beyond imagination. Any help anyone can give, even just positive thoughts. Please. I am reaching out to ask for help...any help you can give. For some of you this will be repetitive/duplicative due to technical issues and I apologize, in advance! For others of you, this may be the first you've heard of what's currently happening in my life. I've been able to keep up with lots of you, but many of you have not heard from me in some time. And a few of you barely know me at all. Perhaps a couple are even not especially happy to hear from me today. I have committed myself to working ever harder to overcome ego and being willing to humble myself in any way necessary in the service of my son, Christopher Hamilton Nowell. My ex and former slave, Bevin, who most of you knew as puppy, has filed in court to take my son. He has alleged that I am unfit/that my home is an inappropriate environment due to my involvement in Leather/BDSM, sexual orientation, poly, etc. Yes, he was guilty those very same things, but is no longer. And, yes, the court knows that he is transgendered and not biologically related to Christopher. I have also been clear that I have no desire to keep him from Christopher. Bevin is, however, attempting to keep my son from me. The visitation he proposes for me is negligible. I can’t put into words how painful this has been and still very much is. If you have kids, I know you understand, but I hope others of you do too. Unfortunately, he is winning and has already taken my son out of state on temporary orders. The Magistrate definitely has seen SM and Ms as per se abusive thus far. It is a nightmare, to say the least, and I wake up shocked daily that someone I loved as much as puppy could be doing this to me and Christopher. Christopher has been gone 7 days so far and I miss him horribly and know he misses me. Some of you are already helping. I have received donations to Christopher's legal fund from many of you and I appreciate it more than I can ever adequately say! For those of you, I'm definitely not asking for more money, but, if you will, pass the word along and let others know. Send to your leather family, friends, etc. These are rough financial times. Many of you cannot donate to the legal fund. I :completely: understand. For those of you who can't donate, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Light a candle. Do magick. Ask the Divine to intercede. Send a message to the Universe. Whatever your belief system, please remember us in some way. I believe the accumulated positive energy will help. For those of you who can donate, even $5 or $10 is absolutely helpful. Really. I have accumulated a little over $20k in legal fees thus far and have only paid $6k of that so I have a $15k balance and will likely have to pay for a costly appeal as well. A local BDSM club, the Sanctuary, has already raised funds. And another establishment, Pavlovia, has offered to hold a fundraiser in a few weeks. A friend in NYC is also looking into raising funds there. The smallest of contributions add up! Since late February, I have been maintaining a blog on the court battle. http://nowellfamilynews.blogspot.co It has some photos and a PayPal button for donations. If anyone would rather send a check (no PayPal fees!), please let me know and I'll give you the mailing address, etc. If you will, please bookmark and keep checking the blog for updates. Also, feel free to Email or call me. I am often overwhelmed with all that I have to do right now, but I appreciate all of you, my brothers and sisters in Leather, and I will try to respond as soon as I’m able! Please also note that the blog has been kept very vanilla. That is because I am trying to update a cross-section of folks on all that's happening. Comments are great, but please just keep the vanilla bit in mind, if you comment. Also, if you know of any resources you think I should contact, please send those along. I have spoken to NCSF. I have been turned down by the ACLU. I have a few other things in the works as well, but advice, strategic ideas and especially amicus briefs would be of great benefit! I'd like it to be near work and Kyle's school. I want a new computer, preferably a laptop. A night off--I want someone to take my kids, and I want to go to the movies, play games, and sleep in the next day. | I just finished reading a VERY abridged version of 20,000 leagues under the sea to my son--97 pages in large print. Now it's been a few years (12) since I read the non-abridged version.
